Former Tanker Pilot Disrupts Aviation Industry with Top Selling ADS-B Receiver on Amazon
Oshkosh, WI, July 26, 2018: Crew Dog Electronics is disrupting the aviation electronics industry with the #1 selling ADS-B receiver on Amazon bringing the technology into the hands of thousands of pilots at a fraction of the cost of leading brand names. Sean Chuplis, the company founder and current military pilot stated “Seeing traffic and live weather with a handheld unit on my tablet was a game changer for my flying safety. I’m on a mission to make ADS-B in technology affordable and available to every pilot.”

Until recently, ADS-B receivers were only available from big name companies such as Garmin and Sporty’s at price points usually over $1,000. The Stratux project was created by a group of aviation enthusiasts in 2015 using existing hardware to build a functional ADS-B receiver with GPS, traffic, weather, and attitude information compatible with all major electronic flight bag (EFB) platforms on a tablet.

Building on the success of the Stratux open-source software platform, Crew Dog Electronics sells assembled and tested ADS-B receivers on Amazon with overwhelming success dominating the “Aviation GPS Receiver” category with the top selling ADS-B unit.

Sean Chuplis is a recent hit on the aviation podcast circuit with interviews on Airline Pilot Guy, Simple Flight, 100 Dollar Hamburger and Why We Fly. Workshops demoing the ADS-B receiver and talking about the technology at EAA Airventure 2018 have been standing room only.

Headquartered in Boulder, CO, Crew Dog Electronics is 100% veteran-owned and operated. They are disrupting the aviation industry with affordable ADS-B receivers and aviation electronics.

Members of the media are welcome to visit booth 790 in the Fly Market located behind the EAA Merchandise booth to talk with the owner, Sean Chuplis.
