One of the world's most popular agricultural airplanes, the Air Tractor AT-802, is on display at EAA AirVenture 2017, booth 441. With a wingspan of 59 feet, and with 800- gallon payload capacity, the 1295 HP turbine engine airplane is the largest ag plane in operation today.
The sleek yellow and blue Air Tractor airplanes are becoming popular attractions at air shows. In early July an Air Tractor AT-602 gave an aerial demonstration at the New York Air Show at Stewart International Airport in New Windsor, N.Y. Piloted by Mike Rutledge, a former Navy SEAL and commanding officer of the West Point Aviation Department and Executive Flight Detachment at the U.S. Military Academy, the AT-602 flew 12 feet off the ground demonstrating aerial application flying at 150 mph. Rutledge does ag flying work in the summer when he’s not teaching character development and military leadership at West Point. Hundreds of Air Tractor airplanes can be seen swooping low over rural fields in the Midwest, South and Western states performing their vital service for farmers.

Only a few years ago, an Air Tractor ag plane drew large crowds on the air show circuit as it performed as Disney's "Dusty Crophopper" from the popular Planes movie.
The Air Tractor AT-802 static display at AirVenture 2017 is in support of the National Agricultural Aviation Association. NAAA is exhibiting at booth 439-431 promoting ag aviation and recruiting the next generation of ag pilots.
