British owned developers at Stella Maris Village, Long Island, Bahamas, announce that Ocean Heights, a new 16 home development, is now in an advanced stage of construction.
Stella Maris Village Limited is delighted to announce that construction is now well underway with their development of 16 new homes at Stella Maris Village. The Ocean Heights development is situated on some of the highest ground in The Bahamas, with spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean, which is just a stroll away. Stella Maris International Airport (SML), the long established private aviation destination with it’s now pristine 4000 foot asphalt runway, line free Customs & Immigration and where both AVGAS and JET-A are available, is adjacent to the development. As Richard Keyworth, Director of International Sales and Marketing said, “Our USP is very much the ‘fly-in and be three minutes from your property’ scenario. Pilots love to be able to have their aircraft near to their property and this location certainly ticks that box. The development is, quite literally, three minutes from the airport, two minutes from the ocean and with one absolutely breathtaking view.” The existing boutique hotel and marina add another dimension to the lifestyle on offer to private aircraft owners, pilots and their families at Stella Maris Village. As Mr. Mel Cubley, a British private pilot and owner of several aircraft whose business specializes in aerial photography in Britain says, “Being able to see your aircraft flying in and out from your own home is like being able to see your horses cantering in the paddock – it makes you smile with contentment; and I think here at Stella Maris Village both you and your family will have a lot to smile about whether you like to be in the air, on the ground or in the water”. The luxury new homes will meet the resurgent demand for both high-end residential and holiday homes that is being witnessed in The Bahamas. “On Long Island generally, a high proportion of home owners are pilots or aircraft owners”, explains Mr. Keyworth. “There is a thriving community at Stella Maris and so we’re attending this exhibition in recognition of this fact and we are looking to engage with this important demographic. The show is in Florida too, so on our doorstep. We hope that our attendance at the show will act as a catalyst and stimulate a call to action to fly in and visit us – and whilst we’re here at Sun’n’Fun we’d love folk to come and take a look at the incentives on offer from us for show attendees.” The new homes will be competitively priced from $595,000 and finished to a high specification to include solar power, rainwater filtration systems and first class insulation, making them virtually self-sufficient. They will also benefit from on-site preparation of fiber-optic communications and television, should the client wish to install them. The 16 new homes (consisting of four villas with four 2 bedroom apartments in each) will form a community centered on a landscaped garden with pool. The development will also include a further three 3 bedroom homes with plunge pools homes on adjacent lots. A key point in two recent purchaser’s buying decisions was the inclusion of the “Eco-pack” offered by the developers – an enhanced specification enabling owners to bring their new home close to energy self-sufficiency. They remarked that, “The ‘Eco’ stands for both ecological efficiency as well as economic efficiency and as such makes perfect purchasing sense.” Such is the popularity of the environmental aspect of these homes, that the owners of Stella Maris Village Limited now include this pack as standard. As with their previous construction on Long Island, the buildings will feature the highly acclaimed construction system by Emmedue, to be built by Long Island’s Cartwright’s Construction working together with Nassau based Carib Construction and Project Management Limited. Mr. Jonathan Houghton, Director of Stella Maris Village Limited, added, ”The ongoing results and progress achieved by Cartwright’s Construction and Carib Construction and Project Management Limited are continuing to exceed expectations and we would like to further congratulate both firms”. Mr. Kevin Cartwright, of Cartwright’s Construction said, ”We are pushing ahead with this new development at full speed. It is really great to see this work gain momentum. This is really good news for employment and businesses throughout The Bahamas, but especially for Long Island.” Mr. Ruben Caputo, the Project Manager, agreed and added, “This commission confirms that using Emmedue’s innovative technology here on Long Island is the way forward.” This new milestone marks yet more progress towards the practical realisation of a long-term project to bring investment to Long Island by the British owned developers, Stella Maris Village Limited, a Bahamian registered company.
