All-metal folding-wing Groppo Trail now available in U.S.
Lone Palm Aero of Bushnell, Florida announces the availability of the Groppo Trail in the U.S. The Trail is a rugged high-wing with tandem seating, and can be configured as a taildragger or with tricycle gear. Of all-metal construction, and wings that are foldable in less than five minutes by one person, the Trail is a unique and very affordable entry into the Light Sport and Amateur-built kit market. Experimental Light Sport and Amateur-Built Kits are available starting at $28,250. The ready-to-fly Special Light Sport (SLSA) Trail, usable by instructors for training and rental, is available for $79,900.

Designed by respected Italian engineer Nando Groppo, the Trail is very popular throughout Europe, with more than one hundred ten Trails sold there so far. With cruise speeds in the 100 to 115 MPH range, and stall at 35 MPH with full flaps, the Trail can get into and out of short fields, and still get you home fast. The SLSA and ELSA versions are powered by the Rotax 912 ULS 100 HP engine. The airframe is of aluminum stressed-skin construction, with a welded chrome-moly cockpit cage. The tough single piece aluminum landing gear and standard tundra tires make the Trail suitable for off-airport excursions, and the utility of the Trail can be expanded with the addition of a belly pod. After a fun day of flying, one person can fold the wings in less than five minutes without draining the fuel, to easily share a hangar, push it into the barn, or trailer it home.

We invite you to see the Trail at Airventure in the North Display Area, Booth #642.
