July 20, 2018, Fort Worth, TX: Flying Musicians Association (FMA), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization for pilots who are musicians, will arrival to Wittman Field in Oshkosh, Wisconsin for the annual EAA AirVenture July 23-29 from parts all around the globe.
A passionate group of pilot/musicians will be on hand to inspire, educate, network, entertain; and encourage others to grow through aviation and music. The skills required to play an instrument and fly an aircraft have marked similarities, from precision and multitasking to listening and fine motor skills. Practice and precision are traits that are developed as a musician. Ask any pilot how similar flying an aircraft is to performing.
Join fellow musicians, or just come to enjoy live music, at the annual FMA Open Mic/Jam held from 8pm until 10pm at the Red Barn in the ultralight area on Thursday the 26th. Pilot musicians will also be performing throughout the week to raise awareness for programs and scholarships. Look for the coveted FMA shirt! “Huge gatherings like AirVenture afford associations like FMA the opportunity for members to come from all around the world. Connections like these afford us to the community which allows inspiration to soar.”
Why support FMA? Because we a great idea! Contact us to find out how you can jump on the FMA bandwagon to educate the next generation. The FMA Solo program has soloed 6 student musicians, with 2 in the wings. Nothing is better than live music for aviators from aviators.
“Flying and music are my two passions in life and the Flying Musicians have put both of those together for a great cause. I believe educating the next generation is so important for music and aviation to continue on." – Aaron Tippin
