Bristol Watch Company Launching Unique New Line of Aviator Watches at AirVenture 2018
For aviation and watch enthusiasts, it doesn’t get better than this…
San Antonio, TX (July 12, 2018) Bristol Watch Company is launching a truly extraordinary line of limited edition Aviator Watches. Each watch is themed around a particular historically significant aircraft type. And all have the unique feature of incorporating actual material from the aircraft it represents. Designs will include tributes to the Spitfire, A-10, 747, F-15, Space Shuttle Atlantis and B-25.
The Spitfire tribute contains original material from Supermarine Spitfire R6753. This aircraft flew in the Battle of Britain, shooting down a German ME-109 on August 29, 1940 with pilot JC Pinckney at the controls. The Space Shuttle Atlantis tribute contains actual space flown material that orbited the earth 160 times and traveled 3.9 million miles.
Bristol is also announcing an exciting future design honoring the iconic Hughes H-4 Hercules or “Spruce Goose”. Thanks to an agreement with the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum, which is the custodian of the historic aircraft. Bristol will be allowed to incorporate original material from the restoration of the Spruce Goose into a beautiful limited-edition timepiece. The arrangement will help fund future children’s science and aviation educational programs run by the Evergreen Air & Space Museum. More information will be released in the coming months.
These watches tell more than time. They tell a story, paying tribute to the men and machines of aviation history. Designed by aviation professionals for both aviation professionals and enthusiasts alike. The cases are carefully machined from aerospace grade stainless steel with the original aircraft artifact preserved and displayed behind a sapphire crystal in the case back. The precise chronograph movements are produced and fully assembled in Switzerland. Premium bands, sapphire crystals and epic packaging are standard.
Bristol was founded by Greg Youngs, a pilot with over 35 years of experience. Taught to fly in high school by his father, a combat decorated Air Force pilot, he has gone on to fly professionally in aircraft ranging from crop dusters to corporate aircraft to airliners and has piloted more than 50 aircraft types. His immediate family includes pilots for the Air Force, Navy, Army and airlines, as well as a NASA Space Shuttle Commander. What another company might refer to as a board of aviation experts, the Bristol founder just calls the dinner table. Two years of focused design and development work have resulted in a uniquely authentic line of Aviator Watches both watch and aviation enthusiasts will appreciate.
Bristol will be displaying its line in Oshkosh at EAA AirVenture 2018 from July 23rd -29th, Booth 4035D
