Exuma unveils 'out of this world' package

(April 4, 2016) -- A leading resort in Exuma, Bahamas, has partnered with the island's fixed-base operator (FBO), Odyssey Aviation, to deliver the most ambitious private aviation package the archipelago has ever seen.

Exuma, a constellation of 365 islands and cays just south of Nassau, has often caught the eye of astronauts circling the globe from the International Space Station (ISS).

Most recently, Scott Kelly, who just broke the record for the longest continuous period of time in the ISS by an American, declared it "the most beautiful place from space". Known for its swirling blues and endless eye candy, Exuma has often been a refuge for the rich and famous, and a favorite shooting location for movies, music videos and magazines.

Those without a spaceship can also discover the most spectacular flying in the world.

And the best part? It's located right in your backyard.

At Sun N Fun 2016, Grand Isle Resort (grandisleresort.com) and Odyssey Aviation (http://www.odysseyfsp.com/) will unveil exclusive perks for those flying privately to Exuma, which is just over 300 miles from Miami.

The package is only the first in a series of offers targeting the private aviation community.

The summer package includes up to 50% off your villa of choice at Grand Isle Resort, a $100 resort credit to be used in the restaurant or spa, a $0.40 cent per gallon discount on fuel and a welcome amenity upon your arrival.

What it adds up to is an out of this world deal to discover the Bahamian frontier.

"Exuma and Grand Isle have always been a popular stop for private aviators," said Jeff Todd, Director of Communications at GIV Bahamas Inc, who will be at the company's Sun N Fun booth, D-019.

"I think what appeals to aviators is not only the incredible beauty of these islands, but also how rugged and untouched it is. Anyone who flies their own plane appreciates that purity and simplicity. There are not a lot of places left like the Exumas. I think it's that spiritual connection that keeps people coming back for more."

GIV Bahamas Inc. is the largest owner of Grand Isle Resort and a well-known developer in Exuma. The company has partnered with the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, located beside them at Hanger D, to roll out this new program.

Grand Isle Resort, located on Emerald Bay Beach, is an award-winning gated community. The all-villa concept combines the luxury and comfort of home with all the trimmings of a resort. Spacious oceanfront villas deliver spectacular views and amenities that include fine linens, fully appointed gourmet kitchens and private balconies that overlook your own slice of heaven.

Individual golf carts zip you around an immaculate resort campus with a fully equipped Fitness Center, infinity-edge pool and a Hummingbird Hit filled with complimentary beach towels, pool toys and water sports equipment.

Free high-speed Internet is available throughout the resort.

Frequented by supermodels, celebrities and most recently ABC's hit reality show "The Bachelor", this comfortable, intimate resort is your launching pad to the adventure of Exuma. By plane or by boat, life in Exuma is out in the islands, where you will find a trove of adventure, such as the world famous swimming pigs, the giant iguanas, the never-ending sandbars, pirate caves and celebrity islands.
