SkyChick Adventures teams with FMA
The Flying Musicians Association welcomes SkyChick Adventures as the newest, most adventuresome, and intrinsically exciting corporate member.
“I believe that music touches every one of us because it is the language of our soul. The very harmonics of music, whether it is generated from an instrument or a singing voice, touches us deeply, just as our first solo flight profoundly changes us forever. In its simplest form, people are drawn to music for the same reason they’re drawn to flying: because it’s fun and emotionally rewarding. I support and applaud the Flying Musicians for bringing joy into peoples' lives and using their passion for music as a vehicle to encourage others to explore the wonders of flight.” -Ramona Cox, aka SkyChick
Ramona Cox, aka SkyChick, is an air adventurer who combines her passions like FMA does. “We are so excited to have Ramona as a member and SkyChick Adventures as a Corporate Member to be able to share her stories with youth so they too can see how aviation and music, when combined, makes for a beautiful harmony.” –John Zapp, co-founder and President, Flying Musicians Association. Ramona’s passion for aviation is also reflected in her work as Sales Manager for MotoArt. MotoArt is a company that saves aviation history by recycling parts (stabilizers, elevators, rudders) from historical aircraft and turning them into functional furniture such as conference tables, executive and reception desks, coffee tables, or bars.
About SkyChick Adventures:
SkyChick Adventures' website was created 15 years ago by adventurer and back-country pilot, Ramona Cox, aka SkyChick. It was one of the first websites that highlighted and promoted back-country flying, safety tips, gear reviews, and the use of mobile technology to stay connected personally and professionally while flying in remote areas.

Fellow pilots were most interested in how Ramona was capable of running her profitable internet company off the grid while simultaneously enjoying an adventurous lifestyle. That prompted requests for seminars all over the country including EAA AirVenture, Sun 'n Fun, FAA WINGS Safety Programs, aviation and business groups. Ramona also gives presentations to community groups using aviation as a metaphor to encourage the audience to explore their adventurous nature which opens pathways to a happier, more successful and fulfilled life.

The SkyChick Adventures website allows pilots and others to discover the many aspects of SkyChick’s back-country journeys which are being featured in her upcoming book, seminars and newly released DVD – “Flying Off The Grid” – Volume One.

About the Flying Musicians Association, Inc.: The Flying Musicians Association (FMA), founded in 2009, is an organization of pilots who are musicians, spanning the globe, proficiency levels, and genres. The skills required to play an instrument and fly an aircraft have marked similarities, from precision and multitasking to listening and fine motor skills. By educating others about these common attributes, we hope to further interest in both. The goal is to share our passions in order to inspire, educate, encourage and assist others by creating enthusiasm and promoting personal growth in aviation and music. More:
