Women in Aviation off to a Strong Start in 2011
On the heels of a successful 2011 Conference in Reno in February with nearly 3,000 attendees, Women in Aviation, International is here at Sun ‘n Fun recruiting new members and corporate sponsors and greeting current members and corporate sponsors. In addition, WAI President Dr. Peggy Chabrian is leading two forums:
Everything You Need to Know about Learning to Fly, but Were Afraid to Ask
Wednesday, March 30,2011

Aviation Scholarships: Not Just for Kids
Thursday, March 31, 2011
10:00 AM, Tent #7
“These are two topics close to my heart,” said Dr. Chabrian. “I am always looking to encourage new pilots, and we also want to spread the word that our extensive scholarship program includes funding for men and women -- committed individuals at every stage of life and not simply for academic study at colleges and universities.”
Close to $700,000 in scholarships was disbursed during the 2011 Conference in Reno. Scholarships available for 2012 will be posted at www.wai.org in mid-July 2011. These scholarships will be awarded during the 23rd Annual International Women in Aviation Conference at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas, from March 8-10, 2012. For more information, visit www.wai.org.
Women in Aviation, International will be featured in a daily radio program on Sun ‘n Fun radio at 10:00 a.m. at 1510 AM.
WAI’s annual Sun ‘n Fun Connect Breakfast will be held on Friday, April 1 from 8:00 am to 9:00 a.m. in the Sun 'n Fun Hospitality Room, next to the Museum Pavilion. Celebrity guests include Audrey and Paul Poberezny and Patty Wagstaff. Tickets are available for $25 from WAI’s booth or at the door.
