OSHKOSH, WI EAA AIRVENTURE, JULY 26 - AUGUST 1, 2010 – In response to changes in aircraft operations, SimCom’s PC-12 Series 1-9 simulator has been upgraded to include co-pilot’s instruments. The new equipment mirrors the pilot’s standard flight instruments, including two EFIS 40 displays. The type-specific simulator is located at SimCom’s Orlando, FL training center. SimCom is the exclusive factory authorized training provider for the PC-12 in the Americas. The company currently provides training on using three PC-12 devices: two are located in Orlando, FL, one that is utilized for series 1-9 training and one for the NG; a third device is in Scottsdale, AZ and replicates the series 10 aircraft. A fourth device under development, a PC-12 NG, will be installed at the Pilatus factory in Stans, Switzerland, in the first quarter of 2011.

“The fleet of PC-12 aircraft was primarily operated by a single pilot when it was first introduced. As the aircraft gained popularity, it has found greater use by Part 135 customers and large fleet operators, the majority of which are now flown with a crew,” said Tracy Brannon, SimCom’s Chief Operating Officer. He added that the upgrade enhances crew and Second in Command (SIC) training and crew resource management. Brannon also noted that a similar upgrade is planned later this year for the PC-12 series 10 simulator in Scottsdale, AZ.
